Besides, it's a good thing, because I have absolutely no desire to grow old at all. "Say, Santa Claus? I've been a good boy this year! And to admire the new gaping-mouthed racing car, we went to Monaco, a long way from Santa Claus' house, but an earthly paradise for his gift stuff... The golden pebble of the Cote d'Azur is more seriously one of the last sanctuaries where Ferraris, and more widely supercars, play almost at home. Ferrari has fashioned a long and beautiful GT dressed in red: a special "Rosso" red for the brand's 70th anniversary and sprinkled with carbon in strategic places.

Ferrari has opted for a retractable hardtop that unfolds in 14 seconds, and up to 45 km/h. But to maintain optimum performance, Ferrari has stiffened the chassis by some 75 kg.... A considerable excess weight, but one that doesn't betray the spirit of Grand Tourism, especially when the 6.5-litre V12 develops so much power. With a total of 1,670 kg on the scale, the Ferrari 812 GTS even retains an athletic body, a contained weight for a GT that measures 4.70 m and is almost two meters wide.

Inside, it's grandiose, and when you get behind the wheel, all your senses are awakened. With this horizontal board, as sharp as it is luxurious, combining leather, carbon and aluminum, a steering wheel worthy of a Formula 1, a central speedometer where the maximum number of revolutions indicates its pedigree... And when you press the red "start" button, the horses come alive and give you goose bumps! It's magical.

The madness of the atmospheric V12...

When you ride your hair in the wind with this machine that is as powerful as it is elegant, you get a feeling of power. Nothing can reach you... I must admit I'm always amazed by the incredible speed of a Ferrari and the know-how that goes with it. This GT has two faces: ease without excess and extreme control.

The 812 GTS is particularly efficient: less than 3 seconds to reach the first 100 km/h; 8,5 seconds for the 200 and then you reach 7th heaven at 340 km/h without getting too excited. It's out of the ordinary.

The goose bumps don't leave you, neither do the shivers, at each acceleration, it's ecstasy, the nirvana of the automobile. The V12 delivers this cavalry without artifice with incredible engine power: the torque peaks at 718 Nm. Still, you have to be highly concentrated. You have in your hands 800 horsepower combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox... and on the winding roads of the Nice hinterland, you pick up a lot of speed very quickly. So you have to know how to stop this GT in time, don't get too carried away so as not to be caught off guard.

But the 812 GTS, like the Superfast, has a few technical tricks that are essential to master the car. It has electric steering, as precise as it is rigorous, which allows the front wheels to be in the right lane while being assisted by steerable rear wheels, which help to erase understeer.

The GTS is also equipped with ceramic-carbon brakes which, with a diameter of 400 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear, provide reassurance in all circumstances... 

This also ensures that the brakes are durable. 

The GT has an electronic 5.0 SSC differential smart enough to coordinate the car's behavior... It's even capable with this kind of device and the F1 Track mode to use the rubber with force.
